If you are new to yoga, the bending and stretching of other forms of yoga can be quite challenging. With Svaroopa® yoga you will get all of the benefits of yoga without any pain or stress on your body. It is perfect for beginners, for continuing students or people with mild to moderate
pain.
Blocks, blankets and even chairs are used as needed to ease into the poses. Svaroopa® yoga is different from other forms of yoga in that instead of stretching into the various poses, you will learn to release your body into the poses. Starting with the tailbone, and working up the spine, you will gently release the deeply held tensions in your lower spine moving through your shoulders, head and neck. As your spinal tensions release: - space is created for your internal organs,
- aches and pains are alleviated,
- stress is reduced & your mind is quieted,

Various therapists and physicians had no explanation for my pain. I was actually put into traction a few times to ease the spasms. I was very unhappy and depressed living in this condition. My life completely turned around when I decided to take action for myself. I owned my pain and in my search I found Svaroopa® yoga. After a Core Opening Weekend with Svaroopa's founder, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, I had a feeling of
relief and openess
in my body I'd never felt before. I took her videotape home and practiced every morning. I wanted to get physically better, but I received benefits I never expected: - I felt more confidence to do and accomplish things I'd never done before, like speaking in public.
- I found an inner peace and serenity that carried through to all of the stresses in modern daily life.
- I found my calling in life: to teach this to others and help them experience the benefits for themselves.
When you come to my studio, you will find that I am conscientious about watching for proper alignment. As a fully licensed RN, I am also very careful that my students don't go too far, too fast and hurt themselves. You don't need to become a yoga master overnight.
